Julie Ann Weigel
December 20, 1942 – April 8, 2023
Julie Ann Weigel, born December 20, 1942, passed away on April 8, 2023 (age 80). God has taken her home to see her family and friends who have gone before her.
Born in the small town of Freeborn, MN, and graduated in 1960 from Freeborn High School. Julie found her life-long love in Minneapolis. On May 2, 1964, she and Herman were married at St. Olaf Catholic Church in downtown Minneapolis, and they have been married for nearly 59 years. With two children, Ron (Mary) Weigel and Annette (Tom) Glasser, she was a great wife and mom. As time moved on, she became a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Many years spent watching their sports and lives unfold, they were her pride and joy. Her beautiful smile will be missed by many.
Her professional career as a pioneering insurance agent was an inspiration to many women who are now in the field. She volunteered at the Anoka County Food Shelf, belonged to a women’s group at Epiphany, Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary, and in Mesa, AZ raising money for different charities. She enjoyed playing cards and dominos with her friends in AZ during the winter months. She loved going on motorcycle rides with Herman traveling in 35 states and Canada. She also enjoyed watching the MN Twins baseball games.
Julie is preceded in death by her parents LeRoy and Eudena Oliphant, as well as sisters-in-law Angie Weichel and Maggie Weigel. She is survived by her husband Herman, brother Glenn (Merilee) Oliphant, her two children, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

O Loving Father and Savior, send your angels to carry the soul of your servant from this earth to the heavenly place of eternal and everlasting life. Let family and friends who have passed before in faith be reunited in joy with the departed. Forgive any wrongs that have been committed and welcome this beloved spirit into the warm embrace of your unending peace. Amen.
