Preparing for Baptism
If you are interested in having your infant or child baptized, we welcome you with great joy! To begin, we require all parents to be registered in the parish, and then attend a baptism class before their child is baptized. This class is held free at St. Patrick. We encourage you to attend this class as early as possible, even during your pregnancy!
Asking the right people to be Godparents for your child can be difficult but very important. Please read through this helpful document on how to chose Godparents.
Please fill out the form below to register your child for Baptism using the schedule below to choose a date.

About Baptism
The Catechism of the Catholic Church calls Baptism “the gateway to life in the Spirit” (CCC, 1213). Whether you desire Baptism for your child or for yourself, this Sacrament of the Church marks the beginning of new birth into the Christian life.
Through the washing and anointing which take place at Baptism, Christians are cleansed of original sin and are marked permanently as God’s children, receiving an outpouring of grace and mercy. The word “baptism” is Greek in origin and means both “immersion” and “bath.” Through immersion into baptismal water Christians experience death to sin, and coming out of the water signifies new life in Christ. The newly baptized are then anointed with Chrism oil, which is the mark of Jesus Christ through whose life, death, and resurrection we receive salvation and communion with God.
Baptism has been a part of the Church since the very beginning. The Gospels tell us that, before beginning his public ministry, Jesus himself was baptized in the Jordan by John the Baptist. Though Jesus was free from original sin, his baptism tells us of our need to receive grace and that our baptism is the beginning of our own call to spread the good news of Christ. Jesus also commanded his apostles to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” (Matthew 28:19). In an urgency to follow this command and to share God’s mercy, the Church relishes the Sacrament of Baptism and offers it to those in infancy through adulthood.
