Music Ministry

The music ministry at St. Patrick exists to enable the sung prayer of the whole assembly, and to add the embellishments of harmony and instrumentation. All of our efforts are oriented toward the goal of enabling people to raise their hearts and minds to God through active participation in music and song. To accomplish this, we have several choirs and use a variety of individual instrumentalists. To discuss where you might best fit in music ministry at St. Patrick, contact Amee Heigl, Director of Music, at aheigl@st-patricks.org or (763)753-2011 ext. 7631.

St. Patrick Adult Choir

The St. Patrick Adult Choir rehearses weekly, on Wednesday nights from 7:00-9:00 PM, from September through May. The choir sing 3-4 times per month, rotating between Mass times, and also for many Holy Days, feasts, and solemnities. We’d love to have you join our welcoming group! There is no audition required.

Contact Amee Heigl, Director of Music, at aheigl@st-patricks.org or (763)753-2011 ext. 7631.

Youth Choir

The Youth Choir at St. Pat’s gives children the opportunity to “encounter Christ through music, learn more about the Mass, deepen our faith life, and enhance our community worship experience.” This group is open to kids in grades 2-7, and rehearses during the school year on Tuesday nights from 5:30-6:45 PM.

Questions? Contact the Director, Emily Larson at elarson@st-patricks.org.

Young Adult Ensemble

Beginning fall of 2016, Music Ministry will be a new way for Young Adults in grades 8-12, to get involved at Mass at St. Pat’s! You don’t have to be a professional to serve God; all are welcome whether you’ve been involved in a school band, orchestra or choir, or you simply enjoy singing and/or playing an instrument on your own. You have the ability to enliven the prayer of our church!

Young adults are BUSY. This ensemble will minister at Mass roughly every other month, with the ability to sign up for months that are convenient for you. There will be just one weeknight rehearsal prior to the Sundays on which the ensemble sings.

If you’re interested in joining, contact Amee Heigl, aheigl@st-patricks.org or (763)753-2011.

The KC Songsters

The KC Songsters is an all-men’s choir made up of members of the Knights of Columbus. They sing on the first Sunday of the month at the 9:00 & 11:00 AM Masses (unless otherwise noted). Rehearsals are on the Tuesday before the Masses, from 7:00-8:30 PM.

If you are interested in joining the KC Songsters, contact their Director, Kirk Denning, at 952-270-7405 or by email at kcsongsters@st-patricks.org

Women’s Choir

Starting in the fall of 2016, our new women’s choir will provide variety to the music at Mass with access to women’s-only repertoire in an array of genres.

We understand that women are BUSY by some combination of work, family life, and other commitments. Therefore, this group will only be scheduled to sing roughly every other month, and will only have two weekday rehearsals during the month in which they sing at Mass.

No experience necessary and no audition required! The goal is to foster a community of women who bond through singing and offer their singing as a ministry to the St. Patrick community.

To join or get more information, contact Amee Heigl, Director of Music, at aheigl@st-patricks.org or (763)753-2011.

Cantors

Being a cantor is an excellent way to take part in music ministry without having a weekly rehearsal commitment. The role of the cantor is to sing along with and lead the congregation in song throughout the Mass. Individuals who wish to cantor may do so alone, or in small groups of 2-4 people.

To discuss this opportunity, please contact Amee Heigl, Director of Music at aheigl@st-patricks.org or (763)753-2011 ext. 7631.

Instrumentalists

The addition of instrumentation can add life, power, and interest to music at Mass. If you or someone you know is an experienced instrumentalist, you are invited to meet with Amee Heigl, the Director of Music, to discuss the ways in which you might serve as well as to have an audition.

Amee can be reached at aheigl@st-patricks.org or (763)753-2011 ext. 7631.
