Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is a worldwide fraternal Catholic family service organization.  Founded in 1882 by the venerable Fr. Michael McGivney, the Knights of Columbus is guided by our four principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism.  Knights are men of faith, community and virtue.  Since its founding, the organization has grown from a single council to more than 14,000 councils and 1.9 million members around the world.  The Knights of Columbus has been called “the strong right arm of the Church” and praised by popes, presidents and world leaders for their support of the Church, community involvement and aid to the needy.  Our local council holds several events each year for the church and also donates their time and treasure to other community organizations.

Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month in addition to other activities that are planned throughout the year.  In order to join the Knights of Columbus you must be a practicing Catholic male, age 18 years or older, and attend an exemplification ceremony.  There is also a $30 membership fee each year.  Men interested in joining or getting more information are invited to contact membership director Jim Isle at
