Circles of Claddagh
A Ministry of St. Patrick
Circles of Claddagh
Circles of Claddagh is a women’s ministry group designed to allow women of the community at St. Patrick’s Church an opportunity to grow in their faith, foster friendships, and serve the church and community.
The Circles is comprised of four individual Circles, representing the general geographic areas where the women reside. Participants are welcome to join whichever Circle best meets their needs and schedule for location, meeting day, or time. Members include women who are single, married, moms, grandmothers, employed, unemployed and retired.
A Virtual Hug from the Circles of Claddagh
The Circles of Claddagh did not hold the 2020 Annual Women’s event due to the pandemic. We look forward to the day when we can reunite in fellowship. Though 2020 has been a trying year, many opportunities exist. Our desire is to continue to bring spiritual support to all women in the parish. Below is a list of excellent resources; websites that offer religious videos, articles, and prayers. These are meant to give support, nurture the spirit, and perhaps a bit of laughter.
- Our own St. Patrick’s website has a wealth of information and videos.
- WINE-Women IN the New Evangelization is an Archdiocesan resource coordinated by Kelly Wahlquist, the speaker at our 2019 women’s event.
- Father Mike Schmitz YouTube videos
- The Young Catholic Woman
Be assured that the Circles of Claddagh Advisory Board and Circle members are keeping you and your family in prayer.
With faith and fellowship, we follow the traditions of parish women before us. In their footsteps, we continue to honor the commitment to women, family and community. Through our efforts, we will forge the bonds of love, friendship and loyalty, while strengthening our relationship with God.

Circles of Claddagh Scholarships Awarded
Circles of Claddagh thank all who submitted 2020 scholarship applications. You described the impact and blessings of your volunteer activities and accomplishments.
This year’s essay reflected on Psalm 34:2-5 and the Question:
What has been your spiritual journey since Confirmation and how will your journey continue in college and/or during difficult or challenging times?
We were truly inspired by your heartfelt and very personal essay responses. Choosing the finalists was extremely difficult.
Fundraisers and Socials

The Circles have donated to the Funeral Fund, Sharing & Caring Hands, Life Matters, the Music Ministry of St. Patrick’s, Seminarian support and our St. Patrick’s Youth Group. We have also assisted in purchasing liturgical and other church supplies, contributed to the cost of special renovation and repair projects around the church, and helped out with some of the operational costs of the church.
What is the Annual Women’s Event?
The Circles of Claddagh host an Annual Women’s Event open to all women of the parish and guests. It begins with a free breakfast and overview of Circles projects, fundraising events, donations and accomplishments of the past year. The outgoing and incoming Advisory Board are introduced and Officers are installed in a short ceremony. A presentation by a featured speaker is the highlight of the morning. This yearly event is an excellent opportunity for parish women to learn more about the Circles of Claddagh and consider joining this terrific ministry. Formerly in January, it was moved to Fall in 2017 in hopes that the warmer weather would be more appealing to all.
