Nicolas Michael Walter

Nicholas “Sonny” M. Walter, Age 86, of St. Francis, MN passed away on April 26, 2022.  He is preceded in death by his parents Nicholas & Mary Ann; Brothers Johnny, Frank, and Eugene; Sisters Marie, Francis, and Clara; and daughter-in-law Barb.  He is survived by his loving wife of over 66 years Joyce, and brother Paul; Children Ken, Chris (Dean), Teri, Mike (Lynn), and Steve (Nicole); Grandchildren Josh, Randi, Jenny, Shelly, Elizabeth, Raelyn, Nick, Tyler, Ashley, Kyle, Sydney, Taylor, and Drew; and Great Grandchildren Liara, Leon, Alex, Lila, Ethan, Landon, Dean, and Nicole.

After receiving his diploma, Nick worked for UPS until becoming a Millwright at Honeywell where he served for 18 years. He made sure that his family never went without.  He loved giving……whether it was making sure his kids had the latest toys, clothes, and sporting equipment or giving of his time by “taxi-ing” kids or grandkids around.  Early on activities included watching his hometown sports teams, playing horseshoes with his neighborhood buddies, couples bowling, and maintaining his home and lawn.

Throughout his life, Nick was a very happy man who loved to share in laughs with friends and family.  He and Joyce enjoyed traveling, playing cards, hosting Holiday parties, and taking road trips to the casino.

Nick will be remembered as a happy, loving, devoted father, husband, grandfather, and friend.  He will be deeply missed by all, but will live in our hearts and memories forever.
