Marjory Carol Egan

Marjory Carol Egan was born January 11, 1938, in East Bethel, Minnesota to Neil and Pearl (Pettygrove) Atkins.  Pearl started calling Marjory by her middle name early on and everyone knew this wonderful lady by the name of Carol. Carol grew up in East Bethel and graduated from St. Francis High School in 1956.  She met her soon to be husband over coffee and 6 months later May 24th, 1965, she married Edward Egan at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Anoka.  They lived most of their married life in East Bethel and were married for 50 years before Edward passed away.  Carol had many jobs in her lifetime with the most prominent being a machine operator at Federal Cartridge, various store manager jobs, council woman for the town of East Bethel, and her most important role as a homemaker and mother.  Carol grew up helping on the family’s farm and she most enjoyed being outside in her youth.  Later in life, Carol enjoyed connecting with people through Facebook, texting, relaxing with family and friends at her camper on Coon Lake, as well as doing word puzzles, and lots of reading books.

Carol passed away peacefully at home with her family on March 20, 2022, at the age of 84 years. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, her brothers Donald Atkins and Douglas Atkins, and her grandson Travis Egan.
