Lawrence ‘Larry’ Edward Chevalier

Age 82 of Andover. Larry was born March 21st, 1938, in Waverly, Minnesota. He grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from North High School. Following high school, Larry served in the Marine Corps. He met his future wife and love of his life, Liz, while both were working for the Minneapolis Police Department. Throughout their lives, they enjoyed time spent with their children and grandchildren making memories, traveling & spending time at the cabin, especially when dear friends Nicola and Nigel from N. Ireland were here.

Larry had a passion for children, animals and just anyone in need of guidance, help or encouragement. He spent his life saving lives, especially the unborn babies. He enjoyed working on his multitude of rental properties with his brother-in-law, Bill, and mingling with his tenants. There wasn’t anything Larry couldn’t fix! He took great pride in keeping his yards impeccable.

He truly was a man with incredible talents!

He will be remembered for his generosity, quirky sense of humor, love of his country and his unwavering faith.

Larry is preceded in death by parents, Noah & Jessie; sisters, Rita Johnson, Pat Mellenthin & Donna Jenson; son-in-law, Mike McDonough; dog, Emma. He is survived by loving wife of 37 years, Elizabeth ‘Liz’; children, Douglas (Sharla) Chevalier, Julie McDonough, Chandra Chevalier & Brianna (Jeremy) Walls; grandchildren, Nicholas (Katie) McDonough, Hannah McDonough, Colby & Patrick Chevalier, Kanira & Nyla Walls; great-grandchildren, Lincoln Schweizer & Veronica McDonough; foster daughters, Amy Pancake & Melissa Kemp along with 75+ other children they welcomed into their home; sister, Beverly (Kelly) Vidervol, brother-in-law, William Johnson; nieces, nephews and extended family including Nicola & Nigel Davidson and many dear friends.

Visitation at Kozlak-Radulovich Blaine Chapel (107th Ave. NE & Hwy. 65) Sunday, May 31st, 2020 from 3-6 PM with a Time of Remembrance at 5 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family to be distributed to Larry’s favorite charities.

Per CDC guidelines, social distancing and the use of masks are required.

Mass of Christian Burial

Monday, June 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.

Doors open at 10:30 a.m.

After Mass, interment in St. Patrick Cemetery.

O Loving Father and Savior, send your angels to carry the soul of your servant from this earth to the heavenly place of eternal and everlasting life. Let family and friends who have passed before in faith be reunited in joy with the departed. Forgive any wrongs that have been committed and welcome this beloved spirit into the warm embrace of your unending peace. Amen.
