Jennifer Louise Setala
September 4, 1959 - December 3, 2017
Jennifer Louise Setala (nee Pohl), age 58 of Nowthen, passed away on December 3rd, 2017 from Glioblastoma Multiform IV. She was surrounded by her family and is now at peace.
Jennifer graduated from Fridley High School and was the second of five children born to MaryAnn and David Pohl. Jennifer and her husband John married on February 20th 1982 and they built a wonderful life together, raising a beautiful family. She is survived by her husband, John Setala; two children, Nina Setala and Phil (Kelly) Setala and one granddaughter, Olivia Setala; mother, MaryAnn Pohl; siblings, Brad Pohl, Susan Pohl, Joanie Pohl and John Pohl. Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, David Pohl; and grandmother, Ragnhild Ritchie.
After marriage, she moved to Duluth, where she and John began their life together. Jennifer worked as a Surgical Technician for St. Luke’s Hospital for 15 years. In addition to work and starting a family, they restored an 1898 house on Skyline Drive and built another in Piedmont Heights. In 1995 they moved to their current residence in Nowthen, MN. Jennifer was a longtime employee of 22 years at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids and has built lasting friendships with many throughout the years. Her smile, kindness, and joy of life has touched so many and will be missed dearly. She was a very dedicated, loving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, friend, and co-worker. Once an angel on earth, she is now looking down on us from heaven. She was an avid gardener and loved all her flowers. Jennifer’s faith was important to her and she was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Visitation starting at 10:00 a.m.
Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery following Funeral Mass.
After burial, lunch will be served in the Social Hall.
O Loving Father and Savior, send your angels to carry the soul of your servant from this earth to the heavenly place of eternal and everlasting life. Let family and friends who have passed before in faith be reunited in joy with the departed. Forgive any wrongs that have been committed and welcome this beloved spirit into the warm embrace of your unending peace. Amen.
