What is Trunk or Treat?
Trunk or Treat is a simple and fun way to bring communities together to celebrate Halloween in a safe and family friendly way. Kids are invited to dress up* and go car to car in the Church parking lot collecting treats. Adults are invited to bring treats to pass out, and optionally decorate their cars and dress up* as well!
Should a Catholic Church be celebrating Halloween?
Yes! Although our culture has often warped Halloween into an opportunity to glorify evil things, Halloween or All Hallows Eve is Catholic in origin. Historically All Hallows Eve was a way for the Catholic faithful to celebrate All Saints (Holy or Hallowed) Day. Children would go door to door collecting treats and prayers in honor of people who had died.

*Please note: This is a Catholic and family-friendly event. Please ensure all costumes and decorations are appropriate for children of all ages, and be sure that we are all giving glory to God in this celebration.

Interested in Leading Camp?
Adults and high school age youth (current 9-12 graders) can apply to chaperone (18+), or join the Prayer Team or Extreme Team to help make camp possible.
Prayer Team is a retreat experience for high school leaders to encounter the Lord in powerful ways and be prepared to lead at camp in the future, all while having the chance to experience the best parts of camp along the way. This is the ideal opportunity for youth in 9th grade or high schoolers who have not previously been to camp before.
Extreme Team consists of high school age youth, 10th grade and up, who are equipped to lead middle school youth as a camp “counselor.” Each high school leader is paired with another teen or adult chaperone to lead a small group of campers from their own parish through all of camp’s activities, conversations, and prayer experiences, even staying in the cabins with them. Extreme Team is all about supporting our youth in having a phenomenal camp experience and providing a positive example of faith and leadership throughout the weak.
Young Adult Leaders are a huge help in making camp possible! Adults between the age of 18 and 21 can come to camp and provide additional leadership, assisting with small groups or helping in a variety of other ways through out camp.
Adult Chaperones are essential for making Extreme Faith Camp possible! One of the things that makes Extreme Faith Camp so special is the presence and participation at camp among the very same people our youth will interact with when they return home. Adults 21+ are needed to help at camp in a variety of ways and chaperoning at camp is an especially great way for parents of campers to support their child and experience all the grace that camp offers themselves.
This Summer, St Patrick’s will be bringing a group of high school youth to Steubenville Mid-America in Springfield, Missouri. This five day trip will provide our young people with the opportunity to not only step outside their comfort zone, but also be led intentionally in prayer, discipleship, and fellowship with one another. Before the Conference we will have a day of pilgrimage in St Louis, visiting their majestic Cathedral, and enjoying the fun that the city has to offer. During the Conference, youth will have the opportunity to hear from nationally known catholic teachers and speakers, worship alongside 2000+ peers, and invite the Holy Spirit to work powerfully in their life.

Interested in Joining the Trip as a Chaperone?
Each summer, the trip to the Steubenville Youth Conference is made possible by the participation of adult leaders who join the trip and lead our young people through the journey. Young Adult Leaders (Age 18-21) and Adult Chaperones (21+) are needed. If you are interested in joining this year’s trip as an adult leader, please complete the form below.
Every summer, young people in middle and high school at St Patrick’s have life-changing personal encounters with Jesus Christ at Extreme Faith Camp and Steubenville Youth Conferences. These types of substantial encounters with our Lord are pivotal in making youth disciples, and as a result, St Patrick’s youth formation and youth ministry are built around providing these opportunities and then assisting young people in building a life of faith on that strong foundation.
Many of our youth would like to attend Extreme Faith Camp and Steubenville but the cost is too high for their family. The generosity of the parishioners of St Patrick makes it possible for us to reduce the cost of these trips and make them accessible to all families at St Patrick’s.
In 2026, our fundraising goal is $19,000 to support 50+ youth in experiencing what the Lord has planned for them in prayer, Sacraments, and Christian friendships.
Double Your Impact! Thanks to anonymous donors, the first $7500 donated will be matched!
Please prayerfully consider supporting our youth through donating directly at this link: giving.parishsoft.com/
Thank you and may God abundantly bless you for your generosity!
Volunteer this Spring to Earn Money Toward Your Trip!
Youth attending Extreme Faith Camp and the Steubenville Youth Conference can earn money toward the cost of their trip by assisting with key roles during the weekend role out of the Invest in our Youth Campaign as well as at the Lenten Fish Fries. Fundraising dollars will be shared among youth evenly, based on shifts worked and total fundraising income. Please only sign up for one shift per child to begin, additional shifts will be made available to families if available after all families have had a chance to sign up.
St Patrick’s will kick off the “Invest in Our Youth” Campaign during the weekend of February 14/15. During this weekend, assistance from youth and their parents will be needed to make donuts, assist with weekend hospitality, provide a presence at the fundraising campaign table, and more.
Fish Fries are hosted at St Patrick’s each Friday, February 20 through March 27, 2026. Each event has 8 volunteer slots that need to be covered. Currently the first 4 Fridays’ shifts are available for sign up, additional weeks will become available for sign up near the end of February.
We are committed to providing assistance to any individual or family who needs financial help to attend our programs or outside activities. If your family is in need of assistance, please contact Rob Masloski atrmasloski@st-patricks.org or call 763-326-2739
