Michael LeRoy Engen

Michael LeRoy Engen was born July 12, 1960 in Faribault, Minnesota. Michael graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1978. Michael was the third son of Dwain Engen and Barbara (George) Sande Dimler.  He is survived by seven siblings: Jeff (Mary) Engen, David Engen, Todd (Lisa) Engen, Tracy (Todd) Lostetter, Pat (Gloria) Engen, Doug Dimler, and Chrissy Dimler.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Don Engen, Dan Engen, Brad Conradi, Kyle Bones, Jake Conradi, Nicole Engen, Brooke Engen, Justin Engen, Tessa Engen, Matt Bones, Eric Bones and several great nieces and nephews and extended family.

He made a living hanging drywall for many years and then worked the last few years as a mechanic for Firestone. Michael was a humble, kind and soft-spoken man.  He loved the outdoors, hunting and especially fishing.  He enjoyed many fishing trips to Canada, Red Lake, Lake of the Woods and Lake Winnibigoshish to name a few. He also loved deer and duck hunting.  Michael liked woodworking and putzing around in the garage.

Mostly, Michael enjoyed spending time with family and friends when there may or may not have been beer available.  He liked playing cards, cribbage and games and always had a smile for anyone around him.

Mass of Christian Burial

Funeral Monday, February 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.

Visitation starting at 10:00 a.m.

Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery following Mass.

After burial, a luncheon will be served in the Social Hall.


O Loving Father and Savior, send your angels to carry the soul of your servant from this earth to the heavenly place of eternal and everlasting life. Let family and friends who have passed before in faith be reunited in joy with the departed. Forgive any wrongs that have been committed and welcome this beloved spirit into the warm embrace of your unending peace. Amen.
