Frances E. “Fran” Lizakowski, age 77 of Andover, MN and Homosassa, FL passed away peacefully on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Hospice House in Lecanto, FL.

Fran was a loving wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend who was born in Oslo, MN on June 4, 1940.  A telephone technician most of her life, Fran was a member of both St. Benedict Catholic Church in Crystal River and St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar, MN as well as the Pioneers of America and CWA Union.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling in retirement, baking, crafts, gardening, crocheting, sporting events and activities for her grandkids, and a little gambling for fun.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents, Peter B. & Margaret (Schultz) Gerszewski; brother, Jim Gerszewski; and sister, Donna (Henry) Mozinski.  She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Daniel, who stood vigil by her side until she was welcomed home by our Lord; children, Dianne (Tim) Koltes and Denice Lizakowski; grandchildren, Meagan, Sam, Amanda, DJ, Ally and Ryan; brothers, Mike (Joyce) and Tom Gerszewski; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 19921 Nightingale Street NW, Cedar. Visitation 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay Street NW, Andover, (Parish Prayer Service at 3:30 p.m.) and one hour prior to Mass at church on Monday (10:00 – 11:00 a.m.).

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Funeral Monday, February 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.

Visitation starting at 10:00 a.m.

After Mass, lunch will be served in the Social Hall.

Private Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Tuesday, February 27 at 11:00 a.m.


O Loving Father and Savior, send your angels to carry the soul of your servant from this earth to the heavenly place of eternal and everlasting life. Let family and friends who have passed before in faith be reunited in joy with the departed. Forgive any wrongs that have been committed and welcome this beloved spirit into the warm embrace of your unending peace. Amen.
